View Modes

These are still in testing, but we’ve found they are very useful for MR game development!

VR Default Mode

Normal mode! Zoom around and edit your creations, no limits.

Room Mode

This mode resets (and locks) your position so that things you draw are “real world size” … relative to how you drew them at least. So, if you draw a head-sized clock on your wall, anytime you come back to this mode, it’ll be back on your wall and head-sized. Great for testing out mixed reality game ideas, like portals on your windows and such.

To use:

  1. Open a scene
  2. Open the Menu, and choose the “Danger Zone” tab
  3. In the “View Modes” area, click on the “Room Mode” button

Hologram Mode

This mode restricts the 3D world to a volume … making it sorta like viewing a hologram! This can really help visualize your digital props or scenes on physical surfaces (like a table, or floor), since the bounding volume will ensure exact occlusion. Also great for showcasing creations!

  1. Open a scene
  2. Open the Menu, and choose the “Danger Zone” tab
  3. In the “View Modes” area, click on the “Hologram Mode” button

Notes:

  • Remember, this is early, so please test with care!
  • Have fun, and let us know what you think! 🙂
